The ICCP controller is designed with an internal isolated power supply and ground, shown in black.

Electricity follows a path of least resistance, so the corrosion protection current, from the anode, will follow a return path, shown in black, through the rudder and back to the controller. The current will also follow a return path through the propeller, shaft, and back to the controller.

The ICCP system has no effect on other electronic equipment installed on the boat.
