ICCP Controller
The controller provides a precise level of corrosion protection by supplying current to a platinized- titanium anode installed underwater, usually near the stern of the vessel.
The amount of current required to protect dissimilar metals is 1-1/2 milliamperes (1.5 ma) per square foot, adding the area both sides of the rudder, propeller blades and hub, shaft, etc.
ICCP controllers can run at their maximum current continously. By allowing a margin for current adjustment, and additional materials on the vessel at a later date, it is suggested that controller size be selected to operate no more than 75% of rated capacity on the initial installation.
The 2504 anode is for general purpose applications. It is capable of providing adequate corrosion protection for small boats or small ships. The anode can supply 3800 milliamperes to protect up to 2500 square feet of exposed metal, at full current, with an expected life in excess of 20 years.
